NEW YORK -- Neil Walker has four more games to become the greatest April home-run hitter in New York Mets history.
Walker slugged homer No. 8 of his Mets career on Monday night. The two-run shot against right-hander JC Ramirez in the seventh inning broke a tie and lifted the Mets to a 5-3 win against the Cincinnati Reds in the series opener at Citi Field.
Only Dave Kingman (1976), Carlos Delgado (2006) and John Buck (2013) have more homers in April of one season in franchise history. They each slugged nine.
