The Nationals and Mets set a Citi Field record Thursday night as the teams combined for eight home runs through the top of the seventh.
Former Met Daniel Murphy's homer off Antonio Bastardo in the seventh was the record-setter. Murphy has hit five of 15 homers this season against the Mets, who led an 8-7 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh.
Jose Reyes, Asdrubal Cabrera, Travis d'Arnaud and Wilmer Flores homered for the Mets, who have 22 homers so far this month after hitting 25 in all of June.
