WASHINGTON -- At least Steven Matz is clicking on all cylinders.
Matz will bid to win his seventh straight start when the New York Mets and Washington Nationals meet in Wednesday’s 1:05 p.m. ET rubber game at Nationals Park.
Matz (6-1, 2.81 ERA) opposes right-hander Tanner Roark (3-3, 2.89).
If Matz goes to 7-0 in a seven-start stretch with a win Wednesday, he would be the first Mets pitcher to do so since Steve Trachsel in 2006.
WEDNESDAY’S NEWS REPORTS:
The Mets have a decision to make regarding Matt Harvey.
