NEW YORK -- It took the team with the best record in the majors visiting Citi Field for the New York Mets to finally to wake up.
Now, Jacob deGrom looks to keep things rolling. DeGrom (3-4, 2.67 ERA), who hasn’t won since April 30, opposes Chicago Cubs right-hander Jason Hammel (7-4, 2.58) on Friday at 7:10 p.m. ET.
In the five games started by deGrom in June, the Mets scored three total runs.
Oh by the way, if it’s July 1, that means the Mets owe Bobby Bonilla $1,193,248.
