Morning Briefing: Mets' new middle-infield combo set to debut

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Neil Walker and Asdrubal Cabrera are slated to make their New York Mets debuts as the team’s new middle-infield combo as the home portion of the Grapefruit League schedule begins with a 1:10 p.m. ET game Friday against the Miami Marlins (SNY/WOR).

Yoenis Cespedes is expected to serve as the designated hitter, while Travis d'Arnaud will start behind the plate. However, Curtis Granderson needs a handful of extra days before entering the lineup because he dealt with pinkeye this week, according to manager Terry Collins.
