NEW YORK -- Now the offseason begins for the New York Mets. And there are plenty of unresolved issues.
Mets officials believe Yoenis Cespedes will opt out of his contract five days after the World Series, becoming a free agent. Meanwhile, the Mets:
Expect to make Neil Walker a qualifying offer worth roughly $17 million and possibly engage him on a multiyear deal.
Plan to pick up options on Jay Bruce ($13 million) and Jose Reyes (MLB minimum).
Tender a contract to Lucas Duda.
