NEW YORK -- Bartolo Colon looks to achieve a meaningful milestone Friday in his old stomping grounds as the New York Mets open a three-city trip.
Colon will be making his second bid for career win No. 219 when he faces the Cleveland Indians at 7:10 p.m. ET at Progressive Field. That would match Pedro Martinez for the second-most wins in major league history among Dominican-born pitchers. Juan Marichal, a Hall of Famer like Martinez, ranks first at 243.
Among Latin Americans, only Nicaraguan right-hander Dennis Martinez achieved more wins than Marichal (245).
