Moments of silence held for ex-Met Darryl Hamilton

MILWAUKEE — The Brewers held a moment of silence before Tuesday’s game for Darryl Hamilton, 50, who was killed over the weekend as part of a murder-suicide in Pearland, Texas.

Hamilton, an outfielder, spent much of his career with the Brewers but also played for the Mets from 1999-2001.

The Rangers and Giants, other teams Hamilton played for, also had their own moments of silence.

Police say Monica Jordan, 44, the mother of Hamilton’s 14-month-old child, shot Hamilton and then turned the gun on herself. Their bodies were found Sunday.

According to reports, Jordan and Hamilton recently had broken up and were in the process of working out custody of the child.
