Clayton Kershaw thinks the pressure from the Mets, the public and the media got Chase Utley suspended, not the late, hard slide that broke Ruben Tejada’s leg Saturday night.
Kershaw, who was named as the Dodgers’ Game 4 starter, made it clear he didn’t think Utley should have been penalized for the hard slide.
“Either change the rule or let it happen,” Kershaw said. “I don't think you can be on the fence. I feel like MLB got maybe a little bit bullied into suspending him. Never happened before. I've seen slides a lot worse.
“The main thing I want to say is we all feel bad for what happened to Ruben.
