With the current collective barganinig agreement set to expire on Dec. 1, MLB Owners and the MLB Players Association are negotiating a new CBA in Dallas, according to multiple reports.
The MLBPA has said it is willing to temporarily continue under the old agreement while a new one is worked out. However, team owners want something new finalized so they can properly negotiate new contracts and trades this winter. As such, owners are reportedly threatening a lockout, which would essentially pause the offseason (and potentially delay spring training and Opening Day day if it takes too long to work out a new deal).
