Chase Utley unleashed a dirty move at second base that was too absurd to be called a slide and he was called out for interference. The tying run was erased, the inning ended, and the game headed to the eighth inning with a 2-1 lead. That’s what should have happened.
Instead, on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium, a baseball game turned into a sideshow, with Chase Utley breaking Ruben Tejada‘s leg by intentionally tumbling into him and missing second base as the game was tied, 2-2. Utley should’ve been called for interference since the slide was illegal due to the fact that he started it at the bag and intentionally went after the second baseman.
