BINGHAMTON 2, PORTLAND 1: Tyler Herron allowed one run in six innings and Binghamton won for the 11th time in its past 15 games. L.J. Mazzilli belted the first pitch he saw from Mitch Atkins over the 37-foot-high Maine Monster in left field to tie the score at 1 in the fifth. Later in the inning, Champ Stuart jumpstarted a two-out rally with an infield single. Stuart swiped second and scored the go-ahead run on Phillip Evans’ single. Portland threatened in the seventh when Tzu-Wei Lin doubled against Kevin McGowan.
