Mike Piazza, the All-Star catcher on the last Mets team to reach the World Series in 2000, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game 3 of the Fall Classic on Friday night at Citi Field.
Country singer and actor Tim McGraw — the son of late Mets reliever Tug McGraw, the closer from their 1973 World Series team who was widely credited with coining the catchphrase "Ya Gotta Believe" — will do the honors before Game 4.
Piazza was at Citi Field on Sept. 20 for a first-pitch ceremony before the finale of a three-game interleague Subway Series against the Yankees.
