Cooperstown remains the ultimate destination, but for now Mike Piazza has his sights set on northern Italy.
The former Mets catcher is mulling a bid to purchase bankrupt Italian club Parma, he revealed Wednesday an in interview with local paper La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It is true, I have been to Parma recently and I am interested, but I can’t say for sure that it will go through.”
Piazza is one of several possible investors expected to make a bid for Parma, which was relegated from Italy's Serie A last season amid a crippling economic crisis that left the team unable to pay its players.
