The Mets got some good news regarding Michael Cuddyer’s sore left knee Wednesday, which figures to only shelve him for a game or two.
Now, they have to figure out how to get him to hit whenever he does get back in the lineup after a “best-case” MRI exam showed a mild strain that necessitated a cortisone shot. Cuddyer suffered the injury while running out a ground ball Tuesday.
Both manager Terry Collins and hitting coach Kevin Long believe the team’s one high-profile free agent signing last offseason continues to put too much pressure on himself while the offense struggles without David Wright.
