Michael Conforto shrugs, Terry Collins warns about injury

PORT ST. LUCIE — Michael Conforto still was feeling the effects of the back spasms that forced him from Wednesday’s game in Dunedin when he arrived at Tradition Field on Thursday and visited the doctor.

Though the left fielder said he didn’t believe he would be sidelined for long, manager Terry Collins was more on edge about the situation.

“Back spasms can be tough to get rid of,” Collins said after the Mets lost Houston, 8-5. “We’ll reassess [Friday].”

Still, Conforto will rest at least another couple of days.

He felt it on a swing during his second at-bat against the Blue Jays, and was sent back to Port St.
