PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto's lower back remained tight the morning after departing a Grapefruit League game in Dunedin. Still, Conforto was not alarmed. He was seen by a team doctor at the spring-training complex on Thursday, who concurred that Conforto only was dealing with spasms.
Conforto had made the four-hour drive back to Port St. Lucie in a vehicle with Mets media- relations officials late Wednesday to spare him being uncomfortable on the team bus. He had departed after his second at-bat against the Toronto Blue Jays when the back flared up.
