David Wright will again travel to St. Lucie later this winter, he told Matthew Cerrone during this week's MetsBlog Q&ACast, presented by Citi.
However, Wright won't take part in the extensive workouts during the team's offseason program with Mike Barwis. Instead, the team's physical therapists and trainers will adhere to the plan set forth by Wright's back specialist, Dr. Watkins.
"I like to be around the guys, I like the camaraderie that it brings," Wright said.
He missed 124 games last season, mostly due to lumbar spinal stenosis, which is the narrowing of the open spaces in the lower (lumbar) section of the spine.
