— Sandy Croghan (@sandy20110) February 29, 2016PORT ST. LUCIE -- Yoenis Cespedes' latest purchase is not a new Lamborghini or Ferrari. The Cuban slugger who has an affinity for flashy clothing and expensive cars bought a pig.
A Grand Champion hog, that is.
At the St. Lucie County Fair with a group of teammates on Saturday night, Cespedes bought the award-winning hog. It was part of a charity for a local children's group and the Mets centerfielder laid down $7,000 for the pig, according to the team.
