Yoenis Cespedes’ restart on his rehab is underway.
The Mets outfielder participated in hitting drills on Tuesday in Port St. Lucie, Fla., according to manager Terry Collins, after resting the previous three days because of discomfort in his right quadriceps.
But there is no indication when Cespedes — who according to general manager Sandy Alderson has recovered from the strained left hamstring that landed him on the disabled list on April 28 — will resume running the bases.
Cespedes played six innings in a rehab game for Single-A St. Lucie on Friday and later reported discomfort in the quadriceps.
