Noah Syndergaard was perfect through five innings before he gave up just two hits to the Indians on Thursday night, but he didn’t credit his sinking fastball or hard-to-read slider.
Syndergaard pointed to catcher Wilson Ramos as the root of his successful outing.
“I think the reason I had such success for those six innings is just the trust that I had with Wilson behind the dish,” Syndergaard said after the Mets completed a sweep of the Indians with a 2-0 victory over the Indians that was called because of rain after the eighth inning.
