The Mets will start either Noah Syndergaard or Steven Matz in Game 2 of the NLCS on Sunday night at Citi Field, depending on how Syndergaard feels, manager Terry Collins said.
Collins estimated that Syndergaard threw roughly 100 pitches while warming up four separate times on Thursday night in Los Angeles before entering and facing four batters in the seventh inning.
If Syndergaard is sore on Saturday, the Mets will opt for Matz in Game 2. If Syndergaard feels no ill effects, he’ll get the ball in Game 2.
