The Mets’ official roster for the wild-card game showdown against the Giants has few surprises.
Lucas Duda was left off the roster entirely, with James Loney getting the start at first base against brutal lefty Madison Bumgarner. Duda was 5-for-23 with seven strikeouts and sometimes shaky defense since returning from a four-month layoff due to a stress fracture in his back.
Juan Lagares, Michael Conforto, Eric Campbell, Ty Kelly and third catcher Kevin Plawecki were among the bench players to make the squad, which gets reset should the Mets advance to face the Cubs in the best-of-five Division Series.
