The 2015 New York Mets had no expectations of finishing the season leading any offensive categories. However, the first half of the season was offensively unacceptable. Losing the captain, David Wright, at the start of the season did not help matters. The weight of the offense then fell on Daniel Murphy, Lucas Duda and Curtis Granderson.
The big off-season acquisition was outfielder Michael Cuddyer from the Colorado Rockies. Cuddyer was coming off a season of injuries and looking to rebound alongside long time friend David Wright.
