Mets welcome Yoenis Cespedes back during press conference at Citi Field

The Mets welcomed outfielder Yoenis Cespedes back during a press conference on Wednesday at Citi Field.

Cespedes, 30, recently agreed to a three-year deal worth $75 million that contains an opt out after the first season.

Alderson opened the press conference, noting that three other MVP’s in the transaction were Mets owners Fred Wilpon and Saul Katz and COO Jeff Wilpon, who Alderson said were instrumental in the contract getting done.

Cespedes opened his portion of the press conference with a statement through translator Melissa Rodriguez:

Now that it’s official, I can say I’m very happy to be putting my Mets jersey on again.
