Well, that settles it.
The Mets are mortal at home.
Their seven-game home winning streak came to an end, along with their overall four-game run, when the Pirates broke through for a 3-2 victory in 10 innings Friday at Citi Field in the opener of a potentially revealing weekend series.
The Pirates, who swept the Mets during a three-game series in Pittsburgh in late May, delivered three straight hits against reliever Bobby Parnell (1-2) to start the 10th. The third hit, by Gregory Polanco, put the Pirates up, 2-1, and drove Parnell from the game.
One-time Yankee Chris Stewart started the uprising with a single.
