Anyhoo, it's easy to blame pen and innings limits for Friday's loss, but the Mets also left a million cats on base.
What's clear is if the Mets aren't ahead after 7 or head to extra innings it's a crap shoot. Torres was great Thursday, awful Friday. Same for Verrett. Need someone, anyone to step up.
As for Cespedes' statue act in left field last night, Gary Cohen said it best. We've seen some things lately that give "you pause".
