PHILADELPHIA – Mickey Callaway woke up Thursday morning without a game to prepare for, a day off that let Wednesday’s lineup snafu in Cincinnati linger a little longer. But life did, in fact, go on.
“I was surprised when the sun came up [Thursday]. I wasn’t quite sure it was going to,” the Mets manager said Friday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park. “That was tough. Obviously the day off was a day off. I always want to be at the field playing, so I probably would have rather to get back on the horse and played a game.
