ST. LOUIS — Michael Cuddyer’s barking left knee could force the Mets to place him on the disabled list this week.
Following the Mets’ 3-1 victory over the Cardinals in 18 innings, manager Terry Collins indicated the veteran outfielder is hurting, but there is “one more idea” team doctors want to try before a decision is reached on a potential DL move.
Cuddyer was removed from the game in the eighth inning because of soreness in the knee after running the bases.
“It’s concerning,” said Cuddyer, who will be treated Monday in Washington. “We’re trying different things to get through it and get relief.
