Mets turn to platoon for offense as Todd Frazier hits DL

The first hamstring injury of Todd Frazier’s career landed him on the disabled list Tuesday.

Frazier tweaked his left leg the previous night charging a ball at third base and was initially hopeful one day off might serve as the remedy. But after catcher Devin Mesoraco was acquired from the Reds for Matt Harvey, the Mets placed Frazier on the DL.

Jose Reyes started at third base and figures to possibly share the position with Wilmer Flores until Frazier returns. The Mets are expected to recall Luis Guillorme from Triple-A Las Vegas to give the Mets another infielder.
