The Mets are in trade talks with multiple clubs about right-handed reliever Carlos Torres, who was recently designated for assignment, SB Nation's Chris Cotillo tweeted Thursday night.
The Twins may have interest in the 33-year-old Torres, according to the NY Post's Mike Puma.
However, according to beat reporter Adam Rubin, "it turns out there has not been significant progress toward a deal."
Instead, Rubin believes Torres will end up on waivers.
In 241 innings for the Mets since 2013, Torres has a 3.59 ERA, while inducing a ground ball 46 percent of the time.
