Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud was given a platelet-rich plasma injection in his right rotator cuff and will be resting for an indefinite period, Mets assistant GM John Ricco said.
D’Arnaud saw an orthopedist on Monday but there was no change in his diagnosis, which is a strained right rotator cuff.
He was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 25 after he complained of pain in his shoulder — pain he said he had never felt before.
D’Arnaud has hit .196/.288/.261 with no home runs, three doubles, and one RBI in 52 plate appearances this season.
