While the team is busy on the field with the final game of their series against the Minnesota Twins, the front office was busy off the field as well. Five days after designating right-hander Wilmer Font for assignment, the New York Mets have traded away the 29-year-old pitcher to the Toronto Blue Jays. In exchange, the club has received cash considerations.
The Mets completed a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays on May 6 that netted Font in exchange for 18-year-old right-handed pitcher Neraldo Catalina.
