The Mets have traded infielder Matt Reynolds to the Washington Nationals for cash considerations. Just a few days ago, Reynolds was designated for assignment to make room for Todd Frazier on the team’s 40-man roster.
Taken by the Mets in the second round of the 2012 amateur draft, Reynolds made it to the big leagues for the first time in 2016. Between the time he spent with the Mets that year and last year, he racked up 226 plate appearances and hit .228/.300/.351 with four home runs and a 77 wRC+.
