Marcus Stroman is off to New York. Just not the borough many initially thought.
The Mets acquired the right-handed pitcher from the Blue Jays on Sunday, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed.
It’s unclear whom the Mets are sending to Toronto in exchange for Stroman, who has two years of control left. The pitcher-hungry Yankees had been linked to the Long Island native, but the Mets also popped up as a possible destination with the team fielding offers for Noah Syndergaard and Zack Wheeler.
The 28-year-old Stroman is 6-11 with a 2.96 ERA in 21 games this season.
