NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The Mets pulled off their second annual trade with the Atlanta Braves to acquire utilityman Kelly Johnson on Wednesday.
New York will receive Johnson and an undisclosed amount of cash, while the Braves will get minor-league pitcher Akeel Morris, the teams announced.
Last July, New York traded for Johnson and his Atlanta teammate Juan Uribe. Johnson played in 49 games with the Mets, hitting .250 with five homers and 13 RBIs.
Johnson returned to the Braves as a free agent in January and was hitting .
