PORT ST. LUCIE — Amed Rosario missed another game Friday after getting hit on the hand Tuesday, but his absence gave 20-year-old Andres Gimenez another chance at shortstop.
Gimenez hit his first homer of the spring in the seventh inning of the Mets’ 10-3 loss to Miami at First Data Field on Friday. He also made his second error of the spring, but showed off a strong arm.
“Maybe there was some nervous energy there,’’ manager Mickey Callaway said of Gimenez’s performance.
“Last year, he came up a couple of times [to major league camp] and probably thought, ‘There’s no way I can help the big-league club.
