Jarred Kelenic is ready for New York.
The newest Met, taken sixth overall in this year’s draft, was formally introduced at a press conference Wednesday before taking batting practice with the team.
Kelenic’s athleticism and well-roundedness have propelled him to the Big Apple. And the center fielder, formerly a member of the under-18 Team USA squad, already has started to get acquainted with the city.
“This morning, [I] woke up and went over to Times Square, and ate at this awesome diner too, it was pretty good — pretty expensive,” Kelenic said. “Two eggs was like 20 bucks.
