In the wake of Brodie Van Wagenen’s aggressive offseason, Todd Frazier has become somewhat of a forgotten man on the New York Mets.
The third baseman who hit 40 home runs in a season just two years ago has managed just 18 dingers in 2018.
With a weak slash line of .213/.303/.390 and sweet-swinging Jeff McNeil looking for some playing time outside of second base, some Mets fans are clamoring for Frazier to be moved to a bench role. A bench role the Mets owe $9 million to in 2019.
Frazier has been consistent his whole career and was, not long ago, a premier home run hitter.
