Mets to re-sign Bartolo Colon on one-year deal

The Mets will re-sign Bartolo Colon on a one-year, $7.25 million deal, according to Ken Rosenthal (Dec. 16, 2015).

The deal is pending a physical.

Colon reportedly had a higher offer elsewhere, possibly with Oakland, but "enjoyed being a Met," according to Jon Heyman (Dec. 16, 2015).

In early December, assistant GM John Ricco said the Mets had not yet discussed with Colon how he would be used after Zack Wheeler returns from the disabled list, though it's assumed he would transition to the bullpen, where he pitched well for the them in the postseason.
