The Mets have reached an agreement to hire Jared Porter as their next general manager, according to Jon Heyman and Mike Puma. There had been several updates from Joel Sherman, too, indicating that the hiring was imminent, and he added that he’s hearing that Porter’s deal with the Mets is for four years.
Having worked for the Red Sox and Cubs, Porter’s most recent job before being hired by the Mets was with the Diamondbacks, where he served as a senior vice president and assistant general manager.
