With rosters set to expand to 28 players on Sunday, the Mets are planning to call up 30-year-old utility player Pablo Reyes and 30-year-old left-handed reliever Alex Young.
Picked up from the Red Sox organization earlier this season, Reyes has played second base, third base, and shortstop since joining the Triple-A Syracuse Mets. In his time with the affiliate, he’s hit .285/.364/.470 with 9 home runs and 10 stolen bases in 230 plate appearances. Unfortunately, over the course of his major league career, Reyes has hit .248/.309/.349 with a a 78 wRC+ in 572 plate appearances.
