We should believe this is only the beginning of the Brodie Van Wagenen regime with the New York Mets. Hired in October of 2018, the current general manager of the Mets is less than two months into his first year in charge of the front office.
Unfortunately for the former agent, things haven’t gone so well. The Mets are statistically very much alive, but the year is spinning out of control of late.
Like many, I didn’t like the Van Wagenen hire when I first heard about it. Why would I? This is the outspoken agent who threated the Mets to either trade Jacob deGrom or sign him to an extension at last year’s All-Star Break which only caused more friction for a team in need of some peace.
