Mets swept in Denver to complete trip with big series vs. Nats on tap

DENVER -- Ready or not, here come the Washington Nationals.

The New York Mets completed a disappointing three-city road trip with a 4-3 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Sunday at Coors Field.

The Mets (21-16) now return home for what promises to be an epic showdown that begins with Noah Syndergaard opposing Max Scherzer on Tuesday.

Jim Henderson inherited a 3-2 lead from Jacob deGrom with one out in the seventh and a baserunner on second base. Henderson proceeded to surrender a two-run homer to pinch hitter Ryan Raburn.
