PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Finally, Steven Matz had some good things to talk about and think about after one of his spring games. That's better than rooting around in the mess of a poor spring outing, searching for the one finely-thrown breaking ball or the fastball with giddy-up and clinging to them as some sort of pitching moral victory.
"It's nice to get some results during spring training," said Matz, who brought a woeful 8.31 ERA into Sunday's start against a Nationals' split-squad. "You're out there working on stuff - that's what this is for - but it's nice to get some results.
