Mets: Starting pitching through April

On today’s post-game show after the Mets defeated the Giants 6-5 (pushing the Mets’ record to 15-7), Nelson Figueroa said that the offense was carrying the Mets, since the starting pitching was not quite at expectation. I decided to take a look at just how the starters have been performing.

Going into game their twenty-second game, the Mets’ starters had an ERA of 2.95, third in MLB (behind the Cubs at 2.27 and the Nationals at 2.31). Mets’ starters had struck out 120 hitters, good for tenth in MLB (the Phillies’ starters had the most strikeouts with 152).
