The Mets have signed right-handed pitcher Stolmy Pimentel to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training. In three major league seasons, Pimentel has a 4.39 ERA and a 3.85 FIP, with 54 strikeouts and 21 walks over 53.1 innings pitched.
Although he was used mostly as a starter during his minor league career, Pimentel has been used exclusively as a reliever over his 33 major league appearances. Pimentel last pitched for the Rangers, but Mets fans may remember him for his impressive performance against the Mets in 2014.
