NEW YORK -- The Mets have signed right-handed pitcher Stolmy Pimentel to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training, the club announced Tuesday.
Pimentel, 25, posted a 3.97 ERA in eight relief appearances for the Rangers last season, spending the bulk of the summer as a Minor League starting pitcher. He has had spells in the Majors during each of his last three seasons with the Pirates and Rangers, producing a 4.39 ERA over 33 combined appearances.
