Mets sign RHP Jim Henderson to minor league contract

The Mets have signed RHP Jim Henderson to a minor league contract with an invite to Major League Spring Training, the team announced on Thursday.

Henderson, 33, made 111 relief appearances from 2012-2014, posting a 3.44 ERA and 1.23 WHIP while striking out 137 batters.

Henderson saved 28 games for the Brewers in 2013 and struggled in 2014 before undergoing shoulder surgery in May. After rehabbing from surgery, Henderson began working his way back in 2015, tossing 35.2 innings in the minors for the Brewers.
