The Mets have signed LHP reliever Fernando Abad to a minor league deal, the team announced.
Abad will report to the team's minor league camp.
The 32-year-old Abad struggled in limited action with the Phillies this spring, allowing five runs in 1.2 innings-including two home runs.
He appeared in 48 games for the Red Sox in 2017, going 2-1 with a 3.30 ERA. In eight seasons with the Astros, Red Sox, Athletics, Twins, and Nationals, Abad is 8-27 with a 3.65 ERA.
